A Wyandanch man was arrested Saturday morning on charges of stealing multiple packages from the porches of eight Suffolk homes since August, Suffolk County police said.

Nicolas Robinson, 33, was charged with eight counts of petty larceny for taking packages from the homes in East Islip, Islip, Bay Shore and Bayport, police said in a news release.

On Friday, a Third Precinct officer responded to a report of a theft on Commack Road in Brentwood, police said. On Saturday, Officer Alejandro Marin saw a man who matched the suspect's description. After conducting a traffic stop on Second Avenue in Brentwood at 8:40 a.m., Marin arrested Robinson, police said.

Police said Robinson is the suspect in these porch thefts: two packages from a Roosevelt Avenue residence in Islip on Aug. 29;  two packages from a Union Boulevard home in Islip on Sept. 28; a package from an Adams Street East residence in East Islip on Oct. 8; a package from a Cornell Street home on Oct. 12; a package from a Redmond Avenue residence in Bay Shore on Oct. 15; packages from two different First Avenue homes in Bayport on Wednesday; and a package from a Commack Road home in Bay Shore on Friday .

Robinson will be held Saturday at the Third Precinct in Bay Shore. He is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday.
