Police arrested a Peconic man suspected of drunken driving after a crash Friday night, Southold Town police said.

Several people reported the driver going the wrong way on Route 48 about 9 p.m. in Peconic, police said. Authorities stopped the driver, Manuel DeJesus Masin Perez, 23, after a crash that caused minor injuries, police said.

Southold police said Masin Perez failed a roadside sobriety test and that he was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving without a license and driving the wrong way. He was booked by Southold police and held overnight for arraignment.

A driver and a passenger in the other vehicle were treated at the scene by Southold firefighters and paramedics.
