Pedestrian critical in Patchogue hit-run
Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident in Patchogue last weekend that left a pedestrian critically injured.
A passing motorist reported a pedestrian on the ground at 6:07 p.m. Saturday on North Ocean Avenue near Vehslage Street, Suffolk police said in a Thursday news release.
Police arrived to find Paul Marchese, 38, of Patchogue, "had been struck by an unidentified vehicle that fled in an unknown direction," police said.
Marchese was listed in critical condition at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, police said Thursday.
