Pedestrian struck in hit and run near Huntington park, cops say

A pedestrian was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries after a hit and run in Huntington Thursday night, Suffolk police said.
The victim, a man, was struck at about 9:10 p.m. by a vehicle on Madison Street and Valley Street, near Heckscher Park, police said.
The pedestrian was taken to Huntington Hospital with injuries considered serious but not life-threatening, police said.
Other details were not immediately available as Second Precinct detectives gathered information. Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
