A pedestrian was seriously injured Friday afternoon in a hit-and-run collision in Wyandanch, police said.

A Suffolk County police spokesman said a man was walking in the southbound lane of Straight Path, near Lincoln Avenue, at 3:55 p.m. when he was struck. The spokesman said the driver of the vehicle then sped away.

The man was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip with serious injuries.
