Pedestrian struck in Thomaston hit-and-run dies, police say

The pedestrian struck by a hit-and-run vehicle last month has died, Nassau County police said Friday.
The victim, 43, died Thursday night of injuries received Sept. 30 in Thomaston when a gray or bluish gray compact sport utility vehicle hit him just before 10 a.m. on Middle Neck Road, police said.
The man, whose name has not been released, was trying to cross the street near Barstow Road, and a southbound vehicle, which witnesses described as a Nissan Rogue, took off with damage to its right front fenders, authorities said.
Homicide detectives want the public’s help in finding the driver and vehicle. They ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477.
