Three men are sought by Nassau County police in an assault and robbery early Saturday in Elmont.

About 2:30 a.m. near Hempstead Turnpike and Wellington Road, a 24-year-old man was approached from behind by the suspects who pushed him to the ground and hit and kicked him, police said in a news release.

The victim’s wallet, containing cash and two debit cards, was swiped, police said. He went to a hospital by a private vehicle for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The three fled the scene in an unknown direction, police said.

One suspect is described by police as a male with a goatee wearing a black hat, police said. Descriptions of the other two were not available.

Fifth Squad detectives ask that anyone with information about this crime call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477, where all callers remain anonymous.
