A homeless man was arrested Monday night in the stabbing of another homeless man outside a Hicksville bodega, police said.

Richard Janicky, 71, was charged with second-degree assault in the attack on Newbridge Road near West John Street, Nassau County police said.

Shortly before 8 p.m. Janicky argued with the victim, 57, “over money owed to him” and pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the left side of the chest, police said.

Janicky fled on foot, and Second Precinct officers responded, police said.

Police said officers found the suspect on the grounds of a storage facility on Duffy Avenue, “inside a silver Ford van covered with a tarp.”

Janicky was taken into custody, and the victim was taken to a hospital by ambulance and treated for his injury.

Janicky was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
