Fignole Cosmeus, 27, of Central Islip, was arrested Thursday, May 11, 2017, and faces charges of criminal sale of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of marijuana and other charges, police said. Credit: SCPD

A Central Islip man was arrested on drug and weapon charges Thursday after a search warrant executed at his apartment resulted in the seizure of an estimated $15,200 worth of cocaine, oxycodone and marijuana, police said.

Suffolk County police detectives and Second Precinct officers said they searched the Adams Road home of Fignole Cosmeus, 27, after “an investigation into drug sales.”

Police said they seized a loaded .38 caliber Charter Arms revolver, 20 .38 caliber bullets, a bulletproof tactical vest, two digital scales, two cellphones and $400 in cash.

Investigators also seized about 170 grams of cocaine worth an estimated $12,000 on the street; about 140 oxycodone pills worth an estimated $4,200; and about 4 ½ ounces of marijuana worth an estimated $1,000, police said.

Cosmeus will be held overnight for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on charges of two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree; criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree; three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree; criminal possession of a firearm; criminal possession of marijuana in the fourth degree; and criminal use of drug paraphernalia in the second degree.
