An East Massapequa man was arrested Friday after DNA evidence linked him to a burglary in Wantagh last September, police said.

Richard F. Mayer, 51, of 530 Clocks Blvd., was charged with third degree burglary. He was to be arraigned Saturday in First District Court, Hempstead.

Mayer was charged with the burglary of a building at 2975 Merrick Rd., on Sept. 19 in which the front door was smashed in, a cash register was smashed and an unspecified amount of cash was taken, police said.

A white glove was found near the scene of the burglary, Nassau police said. DNA taken from the glove was matched with records in the New York State DNA Index System, and linked the glove to Mayer, police said.
