A Southold man who hit a utility pole Sunday and then returned to the crash scene to tow his car away with a pickup truck faces a felony drunken driving charge, Town police said.

Marco Gregorio, 32, hit the pole on Cox Neck Road in Mattituck at about 6:30 a.m. and returned a short time later “with the intent of towing the crashed vehicle, police said.

Officers at the scene gave him several “roadside sobriety tests which he failed,” according to a news release.

He was arrested and charged with felony DWI because he also has a drunken driving conviction from December 2014, police said.

His arraignment information was not immediately available.
