A man who pistol-whipped an employee of an Inwood store and fractured his skull during an attempted robbery in January has been arrested, Nassau County police said.

Andrew Ivory, 45, of Beach Channel Drive in Far Rockaway, was arrested Wednesday and was awaiting arraignment in First District Court in Hempstead on assault, attempted robbery and other charges, police said.

The man who drove Ivory to the store, Edward Henson, 56, of Lawrence Avenue in Lawrence, was arrested March 30 and was charged with assault and attempted robbery, police said.

Ivory fired one shot from a firearm as he struggled with an employee at Convenience Grocery on Bayview Avenue during the attempted robbery on Jan. 26, police said.

The shot did not hit the worker, who suffered a fractured skull in the attack, police said. Another employee in the store at the time was not injured, police said.

Henson has been jailed on bail of $300,000 bond or $150,000 cash since his arraignment March 31, online court records show.
