Hempstead phone store robbed at gunpoint, say cops
Nassau police are investigating the armed robbery of a cellphone store in Hempstead on Friday.
At noon, a man with a black handgun demanded cash from a 19-year-old female clerk, who complied, police said.
She was the sole employee at the Metro PCS store at 652 Fulton St. There were no customers inside, according to police.
Police said the suspect, who wore a gray, hooded sweatshirt, black jeans, black baseball cap and black sneakers, fled east on Fulton Street with an undisclosed sum of money. No injuries were reported.
Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. Callers will remain anonymous.
