The robber entered Teachers Federal Credit Union, 127 Smithtown Blvd., at 10:12 a.m., “handed a teller a note that demanded cash and indicated violence if the teller did not comply,” Suffolk County police said in a statement.

“The teller gave the man cash and the man fled on foot in an unknown direction,” police said.

The robber, whose face was covered with an item of clothing, was described as about 5 feet 8 to 5 feet 10 inches tall. He wore a gray coat, a red winter hat and jeans, police said.
