Police looking for man who robbed Centereach bank
Suffolk detectives are searching for a man who they said robbed a bank in Centereach on Friday afternoon.
Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives said a man entered the People’s United Bank at 1919 Middle Country Rd. at about 4:20 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding cash. The teller complied and the suspect ran away.
Police described the robber as in his 30s with short dark hair, medium build and medium height. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, bluejeans, white sneakers and sunglasses, police said.
