Suffolk County police are looking for a man who tried to rob an Amityville bank Saturday afternoon.

Police said the man entered the Citibank branch at 241 Broadway about 12:45 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding cash.

The bank teller did not hand over any money and the man ran away, police said in a news release.

The suspect is in his late 40s, about 6 feet 2 inches tall with a gray beard, police said. He was last seen wearing a beige bucket hat, black coat and silver glasses.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6555 or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
