Somebody fired a gun into an unoccupied car in Elmont on Saturday night, Nassau County detectives said.

The woman who owns the car found four bullet holes in the driver’s door and left rear quarter panel of the car at 10:35 p.m., police said.

The car was parked on Renfrew Avenue.

No injuries were reported and, police said, it did not appear the woman had been targeted. “We believe it was random,” a police spokesman said.

Detectives asked anyone with information about the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
