Police looking for Valley Stream gas station robber

Police are searching for a man who robbed a gas station Sunday night in Valley Stream, taking cash and fleeing on foot.

The robbery at the Shell station at 100 West Merrick Rd. took place at 10:44 p.m., Nassau County police said.

There was no weapon seen.

No one was injured.

Police said the suspect, who wore a black jacket, bluejeans, white sneakers and a white cloth covering his face, entered the station and told the clerk to move away from the cash register. The clerk complied, police said. It was not clear how much money was taken. Additional details were unavailable.
