A Middle Island man who wore a mask and brandished “an imitation pistol” was charged with first-degree robbery not long after he robbed a McDonald’s Sunday night in Coram, police said.

Gregory M. Daley, 23, of Church Lane, was arrested following an area search by responding Suffolk County police Sixth Precinct patrol officers, who found him on nearby Mill Road about five minutes after the robbery, police said.

Daley, wearing the mask and armed with the fake gun, entered the McDonald’s on Middle Country Road at about 9:10 p.m., pointing the imitation pistol at a cashier — demanding cash, police said. The cashier complied, police said.

It was not clear how much was taken. No one was injured.

Police said Daley faces arraignment Monday in First District Court in Central Islip.
