Police: Man attacked, robbed on Roosevelt street after refusing to give 2 money
A man was attacked and robbed on a street in Roosevelt on Wednesday morning by two men who had earlier asked him for money inside a nearby deli, police said.
Now, Nassau County police are searching for the suspects — and asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. All calls will remain confidential.
Police said the incident began about 11 a.m. inside the So Good deli on Nassau Road, when the victim, 30, was approached by the suspects and asked for money. The victim declined and left, police said.
But, police said, as the victim walked north on Nassau Road he was approached again by the two men, who “began kicking and punching him, causing contusions to his face.” The suspects then “forcibly removed” money and a cellphone from the man’s pocket, fleeing the scene, police said. The victim refused medical attention.
