A man who passed a demand note to a teller, threatening to use a firearm, robbed a Franklin Square bank Tuesday morning, police said.

Nassau police robbery squad detectives are investigating the 9:19 a.m. heist at Capital One Bank, 550 Franklin Ave.

Police said the man approached the teller, a 46-year-old woman, and presented the note threatening to use a firearm although none was displayed.

The teller complied and the robber fled through the rear door, heading west on Gavrin Boulevard on foot with an undetermined amount of money, police said.

None of the three employees and two customers in the bank at the time reported injuries.

Police described the robber as 50 to 60 years old, 5 feet 10 with a medium build, wearing a blue New York Giants baseball hat, jeans, a black jacket and silver rimmed glasses.

Detectives urge anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
