Police probe cottage arson in Peconic
An old, abandoned cottage was set on fire Sunday in Peconic, and there was an attempt to set fire to another abandoned structure nearby, Southold Town police said.
The fire was reported at 8:07 p.m. in the cottage on Mill Lane, police said.
The Southold Fire Department put out the blaze, police said.
Detectives investigating the arson asked anyone with information on the arson to call them at 631-765-2600.
