Officers responding Monday, June 12, 2017, to a report of shots fired on the Poospatuck Indian Reservation in Mastic found a man found lying on the ground with gunshot wounds to the leg and torso, Suffolk County police said. Credit: Stringer News Service

Officers responding Monday to a report of shots fired on the Poospatuck Indian Reservation in Mastic found a man lying on the ground with gunshot wounds to the leg and torso, Suffolk County police said.

The man was airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center in stable condition, police said.

The officers responded to a 911 call about 1:20 a.m. of shots fired on Poospatuck Lane, police said.

Police provided no other details.

Seventh Squad detectives are investigating the shooting.
