Crime Stoppers and Sixth Squad detectives are looking for a man who burglarized a Stony Brook cafe late last month, Suffolk County police said Tuesday.
Police released photographs of the suspect taken from video surveillance cameras at the Jake Starr Café at 1007 N. Country Rd.
Overnight into the morning of April 21, some time between 11 p.m. and 3 a.m., the suspect kicked in the front door of the cafe to get inside the building, police said.
Once inside, he took an empty Sharp brand cash register and an envelope containing about $1,500 in cash.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers, 800-220-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
