Police are searching for three men who robbed a taxi driver in North Amityville early Wednesday, hitting him in the face with a beer bottle and stealing cash, his license and a credit card.

Suffolk County police said the attack occurred after the driver arrived to pick up the trio on Campagnoli Avenue at 1:10 a.m. Police did not release the name of the cab company.

Police said the driver, whose identity also was not released, was transported by North Amityville Rescue to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he was treated for a facial laceration and released.
