Police: Westbury man arrested in theft of beer, lottery tickets
A Westbury man was arrested and charged with burglary after breaking into a deli and stealing cigarettes, scratch-off lottery tickets and beer, police said.
Luis Andres Hungria, 21, smashed the front glass door at Route 24 Deli on Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow at 2:37 a.m. June 7, Nassau County police said in a news release, before taking off with 10 packs of cigarettes, assorted lotto tickets and two 12-packs of Corona beer.
An investigation by detectives led them to identify Hungria, police said. Hungria was located and arrested on Friday at 11:15 p.m. by Bureau of Special Operations officers, police said.
Hungria is charged with third-degree burglary and is scheduled to be arraigned Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead, police said.
Attorney information for Hungria was not immediately available.
