A Bay Shore woman was arrested Saturday at Heckscher State Park in Islip and charged with driving while intoxicated with five children - including a 3-year-old - in the car, police said.

Tiffany Barnes, 28, was charged with two felonies - DWI and DWI with children under 15. She was also charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

New York State Park Police were alerted to the driver after they got a 6:20 p.m. report that a vehicle had hit and damaged several parked cars at Field 6, and was attempting to leave the scene.

Park police broadcast a description of Barnes' car and when an officer on patrol saw it he stopped it. The five children inside ranged in age from 3 to 10, and two other adults were also in the vehicle, police said.

No one was injured.

Barnes was held overnight for arraignment at Suffolk District Court.
