A man was arrested Tuesday night at his Selden home in connection with a robbery and an attempted robbery at gas stations in the past two weeks, police said.

Devon Tyme Jr., 25, was arrested at 9:46 p.m. on Ann Street and charged with first-degree robbery and first-degree attempted robbery, Suffolk County police said in a news release Wednesday.

Tyme was arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Central Islip and ordered held on $150,000 cash or $300,000 bond.

On Oct. 7, at about 9:45 a.m., a man entered the Sunoco station at 1575 Rte. 112 in Coram, showed what looked like a gun and demanded cash, police said. The clerk complied and the man fled.

On Saturday, at about 2:30 a.m., the same man, wearing a mask, entered the Speedway at 501 Patchogue Rd. in Port Jefferson Station, showed what appeared to be a gun and again demanded cash, police said. This time, the employee did not comply and the man fled.

There were no injuries in either incident, police said.

Police released surveillance images of the Speedway attempted robbery on Saturday. Detectives arrested Tyme after an investigation, police said Wednesday.
