An 18-year-old tutor has been charged with sexual abuse for allegedly having unwanted contact with a 7-year-old girl inside the Port Washington Library on two occasions earlier this month, police said.

Officers arrested Taylor Lindberg, 18, of 61 Haven Ave. in Port Washington without incident on Tuesday after an investigation by the Port Washington Police Department in conjunction with the Nassau County Police Department's Special Victims Unit.

Lindberg was a tutor at the library. The sexual abuse is alleged to have happened on May 11 at 5 p.m. and May 18 at 5:15 p.m., police said.

Lindberg is charged with three counts of first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. He was arraigned on Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead.

Detectives say anyone who may have been a victim of Lindberg should contact the Special Victim’s Squad at 516-573-4022 or Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
