Nassau detectives are investigating a phone scam involving threatening calls received by a Garden City Park family.

Detectives said at about noon on Saturday a 44-year-old man and his 19-year-old son were both contacted simultaneously on their cellphones by unknown callers using a three-way phone system.

The callers demanded money and threatened to harm the man’s son if the money was not provided. Meanwhile, another relative reached out to authorities, who then advised the relative to text the son and notify them the call was a scam.

Nassau police said Sunday the investigation is ongoing, and ask anyone who has been a possible victim of this scam to call the Nassau County Police Department or 911.
