A Queens man was arrested on drug and weapons charges Wednesday after an investigation into the fatal overdose of a Nassau resident, the Nassau County Police Department said.

Detectives took Keith Turner, 59, into custody in Elmont and charged him with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a firearm, police said in a news release late Wednesday.

During the investigation of the fatal overdose by Nassau Narcotics/Vice Squad detectives, Turner was found in possession of "pills believed to be Oxycodone and a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine," according to the release.

Investigators also recovered a loaded .45 caliber handgun plus additional ammunition, police said.

Police did not provide the Nassau resident's identity or hometown, as well as information about their relationship with Turner or the circumstances leading up to the overdose.

Turner is set for arraignment Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
