Ridge woman arrested in DWI in Watermill
A 22-year-old Ridge woman was arrested and charged with drunken driving after, police said, she crashed through hedges along Seven Ponds Road in Watermill Sunday morning.
Lakema D. Nelson was charged with DWI, driving with a suspended registration and failure to maintain her travel lane, Southampton Town police said. The accident occurred at about 6:30 a.m.
Police said that Nelson was transported by Southampton Volunteer Ambulance to Southampton Hospital for treatment of injuries, but did not detail those injuries. She was treated and released.
Arraignment details were not immediately available.
