Riverhead home hit inside by shots fired from outside, police say

Riverhead Town police are looking for a person who they said fired several shots at a house on Hamilton Avenue, striking it at least 10 times on Wednesday night.
Police said they responded to the house at about 11:22 p.m. after receiving a report of shots fired. The home’s owner said four adults and a 4-year-old child were inside the house when someone opened fire outside.
The rounds struck both the outside and inside of the house, police said. No one was injured.
