Three people were arrested Friday for selling alcohol to underage patrons at stores in Riverhead and Aquebogue, police said.

Members of the Riverhead Police Department’s COPE Unit conducted a New York State Liquor Authority compliance check of 20 locations within the town, targeting the sale of alcohol to customers under the age of 21.

Hasam Goksin, 54, and Ana Duran, 45, both of Riverhead, and Asif Mehmood, 30, of Cutchogue, were charged with first-degree unlawful dealing with a child, police said.

They were released on appearance tickets and were expected to be arraigned at a later date.

Goskin works at Empire Mini Mart on Route 25 in Aquebogue; Duran is an employee at the Empire gas station on Old Country Road in Riverhead; and Mehmood works at a 7-Eleven, also on Old Country Road in the hamlet.
