Riverhead police: Man beaten, robbed on street
A man was beaten and robbed while walking along Pond View Road in Riverhead late Friday night, Riverhead police said in a news release.
Police said they received a call at about 11:55 p.m. and when they arrived were informed by the victim that two men had punched him in the face, knocked him to the ground and stolen money from his pocket.
The suspects then fled south on Pond View Road. Police searched the scene with a canine unit but did not locate the suspects.
A police spokesman Saturday said no additional information was available.
