Riverhead police arrested and charged a Flanders man with driving while intoxicated after a crash with his two children in the vehicle, authorities said Monday.          Police officers responded to a crash just after 6 p.m. Sunday in front of 700 Old Country Road involving a Volvo and a pickup truck, according to a news release.

The operator of the pickup, Angel Ordonez Guitz, 36, drove off with his two daughters, 8 and 11, in the vehicle, Riverhead police said.

Police stopped the pickup nearby and took Ordonez Guitz into custody, officials said.

He was charged him with DWI in violation of Leandra’s law while driving with children, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, criminal possession of a controlled substance and leaving the scene of a crash.
