A West Babylon bank was robbed Friday by a man who handed a teller a note demanding cash, police said.

The teller at the TD Bank branch, 701 Montauk Hwy., complied with the demand and the robber fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of money about 4:15 p.m., Suffolk police said.

The robber was described as a dark-haired man in his 20s or 30s, police said, about 5 feet 7 inches or 5 feet 9 inches tall, and 150 pounds.

He was wearing a white tank top, sunglasses, blue jeans, sneakers, a watch on his left wrist, and a wooden-bead bracelet on his right wrist, police said.

Detectives asked that anyone with information contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
