Police probe robbery attempt at Lake Ronkonkoma gas station

Police are investigating the attempted robbery of a Lake Ronkonkoma gas station by a woman armed with a knife.
The woman entered the BP gas station on Church Street at about 4:30 p.m. Friday and demanded cash, a Suffolk County police spokeswoman said in a statement.
“The clerk did not comply, and the suspect fled without proceeds,” the spokeswoman said.
Anyone with information about the robbery is urged to call Fourth Squad detectives at 631-854-8452.
