Suffolk police: Man robs Valero gas station in East Patchogue

Fifth Squad detectives were investigating a robbery early Tuesday at an East Patchogue gas station, Suffolk County police said.

The call about the robbery came in at 1:58 a.m. for the Valero at 151 Hospital Rd., police said.

A man entered and displayed what looked to be a handgun, a police spokeswoman said. The man fled with cash, but no injuries were reported, she said.

Detectives believe this robbery could be connected to others, but did not immediately provide additional details.
