Nassau County police are looking for two men they said shot a taxi driver in the face in Roosevelt on Wednesday night.

The driver stopped on Jefferson Avenue to pick up a fare at about 9:15 p.m. and told police that two men entered the car. Police said the driver and the men got into an argument, which escalated when they got out of the taxi and pulled the driver out of the vehicle.

During the struggle, the driver was shot in the face, police said.

The driver was treated at a hospital for a serious eye injury. Police said the men were wearing black masks and dark clothing.

Detectives are asking those with information to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 800-244-TIPS.
