A 72-year-old man was crossing Mineola Avenue Tuesday where he was struck by a vehicle that did not stop. Credit: Jonathan Singh

A pedestrian was hospitalized in critical condition after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver Tuesday night in Roslyn Heights, Nassau police said.

About 9:15 p.m., a 72-year-old man was crossing Mineola Avenue near Woodward Street where he was struck by a vehicle that did not stop, police said.

The man sustained serious injuries; he was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

An investigation is ongoing, police said.
