Nassau County police are looking for a man who they said entered a woman’s basement in Roslyn Heights early Saturday morning.

Police said a woman, 54, was in her Madison Avenue home with her 16-year-old son when she heard a noise in the basement at about 12:05 a.m. She turned on a light and didn’t see anyone, but when she returned to the living room and turned on a light, she saw a man running from the side of her home, police said.

Police arrived and determined that someone had entered her basement, though nothing is believed to have been stolen.

The burglar was described as a 6-foot-tall male weighing about 150 pounds and wearing a blue jacket and jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. All callers will remain anonymous.
