Police have released a surveillance photo of a hooded man they said robbed a bank in West Hempstead Tuesday morning, handing a demand note to a teller then fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robbery occurred at the Roslyn Savings Bank on Hempstead Turnpike at about 9:15 a.m., Nassau County police said.

There were seven employees and two customers in the bank at the time, police said. There were no reported injuries.

Police said the suspect wore a black jacket and hooded sweatshirt and was described as being tall, perhaps between 6-foot-2 and 6-foot-4, with a thin build.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
