Rottweiler sends burglars fleeing home, Suffolk police say
Two burglars, one with a gun, in a Commack home Tuesday morning fled when the owner’s Rottweiler ran into the room, police said.
The two men entered the home on Orchid Lane about 2:12 a.m. and demanded money, Suffolk County police said.
One of the burglars hit a 27-year-old woman in the head with a gun, then struggled with her 54-year-old father, police said.
That’s when the Rottweiler entered the room, and the burglars fled empty-handed, police said.
The woman refused medical help and her father was not injured, police said.
