Scott Jutkins, drunken driver, crashes into pole, injures passenger, cops say

An Illinois man has been charged with drunken driving after injuring his passenger in a crash in Roslyn Harbor on Saturday afternoon, Nassau County police said.

Police said Scott J. Jutkins, 37, of St. Charles, Illinois, was driving a 2011 BMW west on Bryant Avenue when he crashed into an electric pole on Motts Cove Road about 1 p.m., police said. His passenger, a 36-year-old woman, was taken by ambulance to a hospital where she was listed in serious condition.

Jutkins was charged with second-degree assault and driving while intoxicated. He is set to be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
