A man confronted by a homeowner during a 2014 burglary in Seaford was arrested Monday after his fingerprints matched those from the crime scene, Nassau County police said.

The homeowner also was able to identify Sean Tutt, 40, of 14 Remsen St. in Copiague as the man he attempted to grab on Nov. 3, 2014, during the burglary, police said.

Tutt is charged with second-degree burglary and is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.

Seventh Squad detectives said Tutt entered a Jackson Avenue home through a side window at about 4:45 p.m.; he took assorted items and placed them in a bag.

When the homeowner returned, the suspect was still in the house, police said. As Tutt attempted to flee, the homeowner tried to grab him and Tutt dropped the bag containing the items.

Police said the homeowner recognized Tutt from a group of photographs.

Tutt was arrested Monday in Copiague by Bureau of Special Operations officers.
