A 36-year-old Selden man was arrested Monday and charged in the robbery of a bank in Rocky Point in December, police said.

Robert Oliver of 21 Salem Rd. was charged with one count of first-degree robbery, Suffolk County police said.

Police said Oliver walked into the Chase branch on Route 25A in Rocky Point around noon on Dec. 11, and told the teller he had a gun and to hand over cash. The teller complied, police said, and Oliver was last seen fleeing toward a shopping center behind the bank.

Police did not say how much money Oliver stole.

They also did not say what led them to Oliver.

Held overnight, Oliver is scheduled for arraignment Tuesday in First District Court in Central Islip, police said.
