Several Freeport leaf fires investigated
Investigators are looking into the cause of several small fires that damaged the fence outside a day care center in Freeport on Saturday night.
Authorities received a call at about 9 p.m. reporting small leaf fires on South Ocean Avenue.
Nassau police said that several of the small fires appeared intentional. They caused minor damage to the fence. No one was injured.
The Nassau Police arson squad is investigating.
