A Florida man was sentenced Friday by a federal judge to 12 years in prison for pressuring a teenage girl from Long Island to send him sexually explicit photos, federal prosecutors said.

Also, two Central Islip men have pleaded guilty in Central Islip before U.S. Magistrate Judge James M. Wicks to sex trafficking a minor for money at a hotel in Suffolk County, said federal prosecutors in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York.

“These defendants manipulated, abused and exploited children who they saw as objects to control rather than as young people to be cherished and protected,” U.S. Attorney Breon Peace said in a news release. “Along with our law enforcement partners, we are committed to protecting our children and ensuring that those who perpetrate sex crimes against them face serious consequences.”

Robert Gallimore, 32, of Sebring, Florida, was sentenced in Central Islip by U.S. District Judge Joanna Seybert for forcing a minor to engage in sexual activity, prosecutors said in a news release.

In May 2018, according to prosecutors and court documents, Gallimore, who was a Florida state corrections officer, made the 16-year-old send sexually explicit and masochistic child pornography to him for over a week, using a social media app known as Kik Messenger. Gallimore, prosecutors said, threatened the teen that he would send photos and videos of her throughout the school she attended if the items weren’t sent.

Terron Newsome and Fredjy Exavier, both 25, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of a minor, prosecutors said in a news release.

Between March 2014 and December 2018, prosecutors said Newsome and Exavier plotted to sex traffic a minor and set up sexual acts or intercourse for money, knowing that the victim was a minor. According to court documents, the hotel was the Rodeway Inn in Ronkonkoma. Newsome tried to sex traffic a 12-year-old, prosecutors said.

“These individuals committed unthinkable acts against children, exploiting them for their own personal gain,” Suffolk County Police Commissioner Rodney Harrison said in a news release.
