Suffolk County police Third Squad detectives are investigating shots fired Friday morning on a street in Brentwood.

“A male fired shots at another male” at 10:50 a.m. in the area of 1st Avenue and Fourth Street, police said in a statement. “No one was struck. A woman and a child were behind the shooter and did not appear to be the target.”

The investigation into the reckless endangerment is continuing, police said.
